First Love Foundation Foodbank
Since its launch in December 2010, Quaystone has been privileged to play a key role in assisting the First Love Foundation Foodbank.
If you live in our borough, Tower Hamlets, you probably aren’t far from somebody who is going through a food crisis. Hunger as a result of poverty is not something that only happens in the Third World – it exists right here in our local community.
Tower Hamlets has the second highest level of income inequality in London as well as one of the highest rates of unemployment. Unexpected problems such as bereavement, illness, redundancy and theft can often throw people without adequate support into crisis.
First Love Foundation is there when people have nowhere left to turn. The organisation is more than just a Foodbank, providing help to get lives back on track with their highly regarded, bespoke, ‘Enabling Lives’ Programme, which provides instant access to high quality advice, support and food at the point of need.
Can you help? We have monthly donations on Sunday mornings on the first Sunday in the month, and Foodbank is always looking for volunteers in various areas.
If you’d like to know more, please contact the church office, or get in touch with Tower Hamlets Foodbank directly. The link to their website is below:
