CHRISTMAS 2020Candles, Carols & Creativity
If you think the virus will ruin Christmas, THINK AGAIN!
Quaystone has some wonderful events lined up to bring peace and joy to all our lives this Christmas. There’s even a competition where you could win a £100 Asda gift voucher. Keep reading down for details
Creating a scene
We challenge you to create a scene in your window with a ‘Carols’ theme and enter it into our competition. We will accept any Christmas theme, but extra marks will be awarded for those who seek to make a Christmas Carol central to the display.
They can be funny, thought provoking or just downright sparkly and we will be giving three prizes of £100, £50 and £25 Asda gift vouchers.
To enter the competition you will need to send an email to email@example.com with a photograph of your window display and your address and phone number so we can contact you. Please also tell us if you have anything that you would like us to pray for. The latest date we can accept entries is 12th December. The winners will be announced at our special online ‘Carols by Candlelight’ Zoom service on 20th December starting at 6:30pm. The competition is open to anyone living in Poplar, Limehouse or the Isle of Dogs. See details further down as to how to access that service.
Here are some ideas of our own to get your creative juices flowing.

Carol Singing on the street – Sunday 13th December at 4pm
It is difficult to plan for this as covid restrictions are ever-changing. We are hoping to be carol singing on Sunday 13th December at 4pm in a street near you. Please come and join in or just listen.
Would you like us to come to your street? Just drop us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll make every effort to attend. Please send us a request for a carol or ask us to pray for you, your family or a friend.
We will not be having our normal service at 11am on 13th December.
Carols by Candlelight ONLINE – 20th December 6:30 pm
Come dressed up and light a candle (we suggest a battery operated one) in your own home to create the atmosphere of a live service.
By ‘dressed up’ we mean, come as an Angel or a shepherd or any character from the Nativity scene. We would love to see a couple dressed up as Mary & Joseph and if you have a new-born then the part of the baby Jesus could be yours as well. You do not have to dress up if you are not comfortable with the idea. Come and join us as we sing carols to celebrate the real meaning of Christmas.
We are out to have some fun at this live interactive service so be prepared to be leaving with a smile.
If you have any prayer request that we could share in this service, please email email@example.com

We will not be having our normal service at 11am on 20th December.
Christmas Day Morning Celebration (short morning service on Zoom) – 10:30am
We have always found that this short service sums up Christmas with its excitement and anticipation, It is a truly unique occasion and shouldn’t be missed.
This year, due to covid, we will be meeting on Zoom but we expect the peace of God to be with us as normal. Please join us for a special time of worship.
Why not show us a gift that you may have been given and present a challenge to Val & Jon to tell you why that gift can remind you of the Bible and especially Jesus.
What a great way to start Christmas day!
