Since its launch in December 2010, Quaystone has been privileged to play a key role in Tower Hamlets Foodbank.

As well as donating over a tonne of food in the first 12 months, we have assisted in recruiting a network of voucher-holders across the borough and helped to set-up and run the Poplar distribution centre. We are now looking forward to the imminent launch of a distribution centre on the Isle of Dogs itself - watch this space!

If you live in our borough, Tower Hamlets, you probably aren’t far from somebody who is going go through food crisis. Hunger as a result of poverty is not something that only happens in the Third World - it exists right here in our local community. Tower Hamlets, has the second highest level of income inequality in London as well as one of the highest rates of unemployment. Unexpected problems such as bereavement, illness, redundancy and theft can often throw people without adequate support into crisis.

Tower Hamlets Foodbank is there when people have nowhere left to turn.

Can you help? We have monthly donations on Sunday mornings on the first Sunday in the month, and Foodbank is always looking for volunteers in various areas. If you'd like to know more, please contact the church office, or get in touch with Tower Hamlets Foodbank directly.
