Prayer Meetings

Prayer Nights are on Monday Evenings from 8 to 9:30pm in Jay and Rosemary's house. Please contact the church office for more details .

As a church we are deeply committed to prayer and our weeekly prayer time on Monday nights reflects this. Each Monday a group of people gather to pray for everything from personal needs to the welfare of the Isle of Dogs, our nation and the nations.

Quaystone Church has a committed local vision for 'the Island' its communities and its life. Every week we are praying for people to come to know God and to give their lives to him. Tower Hamlets as a borough has the lowest church attendance per head of population in the whole of the UK and the Isle of Dogs has less churches per head of population than any other part of the borough. So our task is enormous! But our God is the God of the impossible and that's why we pray for him to turn things round, starting with us as a church.

We are longing to see people know the reality of the Lord Jesus in their lives and so we are constantly praying for creative ways to make him known.

When we get together on a Monday night, some people will come with prayer requests from people in our work place, from family members; some will come with texts received that day asking for prayer, other requests will have been phoned or emailed through. Sometimes there are so many requests it is difficult to get through them all, but we are committed to praying for as many as we can.

Many times we feel the need to hear from God rather than keep talking to him, that we need to hear from him rather than one another, so we gear ourselves to have 'big ears and little mouths'!

We have seen many answers to our prayers. Some answers seem to come quickly, other answers seem somewhat slower in coming and some answers seem to be different to what we prayed for or expected. That's God keeping us on our toes so we're learning as we go, but one thing we're sure of - prayer changes things.
