In the movie we recently showed at Quaystone, "Fireproof", Fire Captain Caleb Holt is fearless and successful at work, but his marriage to Catherine is far too fragile to withstand the fires that life throws at it.
Great marriages don’t happen by chance; they require nurture, training and help from above. We believe that marriage was God’s great idea, but for many people, keeping a marriage strong and fruitful over the long-term is one of the biggest challenges they face.
With this in mind, Quaystone Church and
Tower Hamlets Community Church are jointly organising some free evenings devoted to helping couples strengthen their marriages.
These Sunday evenings will be spread 6-8 weeks apart, to allow couple to apply principles learned before rushing on to the next evening. Each Sunday stands alone, and will cover a different topic. The topics covered will be -
• Common values
• Communication and conflict
• Finances
• Family matters
• Sexuality
Whether you are experiencing difficulties now or preparing for the future, these evenings will be a useful investment in building a ‘fireproof’ marriage. The next Sunday evening, covering sexuality, will be from 7-9pm, on
8th November at the Docklands Settlement Centre. If you would like to come along, please call 020 7093 3146 to book your place, or
contact the church office.
