Joy Taylor (Mercy Ships)

A founder member of Quaystone, Joy has been working for Mercy Ships for the last year. Mercy Ships programmes promote health and well-being by serving the urgent surgical needs of the forgotten poor and empowering developing communities. This is achieved through a fleet of dedicated hospital ships. joy2

joy1 The newest ship in the fleet, the Africa Mercy, is dedicated to bringing continued hope and healing to the people of Africa. This vessel is the world's largest non-governmental hospital ship, with six operating theatres, a 78-bed patient ward and accommodation for more than 450 volunteer crew members. Joan is currently working as Mercy Teams Co-ordinator on the Africa Mercy, which is docked at the port of Conotou, in the West Aftican country of Benin.

Please pray for Joy, for -
  • Wisdom in managing the teams of short-term volunteers, who come from all over the world to serve for up to two weeks
  • People and churches to sign up to support the teams throughout 2009
  • God's presence and peace, away from family and friends

As well as praying, Quaystone members can contact Joy via her email address on the church address book. If you are not a member, but would like to contact Joy, please get in touch with us.
